Job Description

A pilot in command is responsible for the safety of crew, passengers and should confirm efficient operation of the airplane. Airline companies expect pilots to follow high level of safety regulations, while maintaining operating costs.

        Though this job comes with challenges and responsibilities, pilots enjoy their nature of work overall. In order to maintain validity of their licence, they must undertake rigorous training courses every six months. It requires personal commitment and dedication throughout their career as a pilot. Apart from the above long term job fulfilment, they also carry out the tasks below on a regular basis.

  • Prepare flight-plan based on the information received on weather, passengers, crew, and airplane details.
  • Carryout pre-flight inspection on the navigation and operating systems.
  • Make sure to have required amount of fuel for the trip.
  • Double-check all the safety systems for proper operation.
  • Brief cabin crew before flight and maintain constant communication during the flight to ensure safety and comfort of passengers and aircraft.
  • Communicate with air traffic ground control before takeoff, during flight and landing.
  • Carry out regular checks on the aircraft's technical performance, position, air traffic and weather conditions during flight.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to environmental changes and emergencies.
  • Update aircraft logbook and write reports at the end of each flight.
