Aircraft cables' current rating can be defined as defined as the amount of current it could carry without sustaining a temperature rise. Earlier cables had current rating stamped on the outer sheath. Now cables are classified according to American Wire Gauge (AWG) and the gauge number stamped on the cable. The AWG ensure its current carrying capacity, strength, and other parameters for safe installation.
