Part Referencing

Every item called up on a drawing is given an item number, which is shown in a ‘balloon’ on the face of a drawing. No other information is given in, or adjacent to the balloon with the exception of information necessary for manufacture or assembly such as ‘equally spaced’ or ‘snap head inside’. A Schedule of Parts is also included.

Materials such as locking wire and shimming, which are available in rolls and sheets will be detailed by specification number in the ‘Part No’ column and the quantity will be entered as ‘As Required’ or ‘A/R’.
